Today, Qualcomm has presented what will be one of those processors that we will see give life to a Xiaomi smartphone throughout the first quarter of 2021. The new Snapdragon 678 is the renewal of the Snapdragon 675 that we currently find in the Redmi Note 7 Pro which was only launched in the Indian market, offering a power of 210,000 points in Antutu, currently being a mid/low range if we compare it with the Poco X3 NFC that the Snapdragon 732G mounts inside.
The Snapdragon 678 seeks to improve gaming power, away from charging and photography. That is why this processor compared to Snapdragon 675, supports dynamic photography and videography capabilities and immersive entertainment experiences with a long battery life through a fast and reliable connectivity.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 678 adds Spectra 250L ISP, which will enhance the photography experience. Users will be able to capture every moment with shareable detail and lifelike colors through triple camera photos with up to 48 megapixels (MP) and no shutter lag.
This chipset will be able to use AI in photos with portrait mode (Bokeh), low light shooting and laser autofocus, allowing users to improve their photos.
In addition, the Snapdragon 678 will be able to record unlimited 4K videos with recording functions, such as slow-motion recording, 5x optical zoom and portrait mode, with dual camera support up to 16 MP.
But this is not all, since the Snapdragon 678 will be able to perform heavy tasks in videos, games and music with a more than decent clarity and with high graphics with ease. The Kryo 460 CPU and Adreno 612 GPU drive faster graphics playback, enabling crisp, lifelike images at high frame rates with fewer frame drops.
Mobile gamers will find their experiences an improvement, as the Snapdragon 678 is optimized for Unity, Messiah, NeoX, and Unreal Engine 4, among other major graphics engines, and provides quick access to popular apps and content.
The Snapdragon X12 LTE modem drives super-fast upload and download speeds, plus fast response times. Supports advanced carrier aggregation with downloads of up to 600Mbps and uploads of up to 150Mbps. Also compatible with all major 4G networks plus Licensed Assisted Access (LAA) for increased capacity.
It is expected that this new Qualcomm processor Let’s see it in models with prices below 15000 INR. So it would be a good chipset for the Redmi mid/low range that will be born in early 2021.
