Xiaomi limits the functionalities of MIUI 12.5 for its Global version

Xiaomi today presented the global version of its last big update of MIUI with its version 12.5. A version of your customization layer that comes back with fewer features than those offered for the Asian market.

Of all the functionalities that MIUI 12.5 has incorporated, Xiaomi will only offer us the following:

Super wallpapers

Xiaomi has added new animated wallpapers with images of some of the highest and best-known mountains in the world. These funds will be updated as the day progresses. But they will only be available on compatible devices (high-end models from the Mi 8 onwards).

Memory and storage optimization

The MIUI development team has focused on version 12.5 in the system optimization. Have improved MIUI architecture focusing on the effects of the smartphone and our gestures. Achieving greater rendering power (up to 20 times faster) and achieving more optimized effects. In this way, MIUI 12.5 is a lighter and faster version of the interface.

Nevertheless, this optimization will not be the same. The memory will improve by 22% compared to 35% of the Chinese ROM and the autonomy will increase up to 15% compared to 25% of the Asian version.

Xiaomi limits bloatware on MIUI 12.5

MIUI 12.5 also improves the bloatware. They have listened to the Mi Fans and have allowed uninstalling pre-installed applications that arrive with the system itself. However, in China ROM users only have 9 essential applications that cannot be removed. While in the global version these applications are reduced to 15.

Improved notes app

MIUI’s own version of Google’s Keep app adds new thought notes and mind map generation. It offers a more optimized way to write directly on the screen as if our fingers were a pen.

Nevertheless, compatibility with MIUI + offered us a wide range of possibilities to improve our performance when working with our PC for the moment It won’t be available. As well as the haptic enhancements or privacy and new natural sounds are falling for our market.

All these functions are relegated to Asian users, once again leaving global users with a decaf version of the big MIUI update. We remember that it is not the first time that Xiaomi follows this strategy by offering MIUI updates more limited to the global version.
