Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus, 10% more performance

Almost half a year has passed since Qualcomm introduced its Snapdragon 865 that we currently find in high-end smartphones such as the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro. Qualcomm today announced its renewal with the Snapdragon 865 Plus.

Qualcomm claims that the new chipset offers 10% more power focusing on the gaming section and Artificial Intelligence. Also the Snapdragon 865 Plus will allow us to play with “The same quality of a desktop computer” to one Up to 144 fps and 10-bit HDR speed.

This SoC maintains the manufacturing process at 7 nm and its main core is based on the Cortex A77 with a frequency of 3.1 GHz. This improvement represents a 10% increase over the clock speed of the 865 and makes it the first smartphone chipset to overcome the 3 GHz barrier.

But the improvements do not stop there, its Adreno 650 GPU It has improved getting 10% more performance in games, but without detailing the actual frequency it is capable of reaching.

As for its connectivity, it maintains 5G connectivity but also this chipset offers 6E Wi-Fi connectivity with a total bandwidth of up to 3.6 GHz thanks to the Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 platform.

The first smartphone to mount this processor will not be a Xiaomi, if not the Asus RoG Phone 3 will be in charge of making the debut of the most powerful SoC released by Qualcomm to date. In the coming months, we will see more high ranges incorporate it into your hardware. Who knows if the Mi Mix range will be the next to set it up.
